Wasabi Tours – Twilight Volcano & Stargazing Tour (from Kona)

See several sides of the Big Island in one day, from Kona coffee country and black sand beaches to volcanic landscapes and an evening under the stars. Departing from the Kohala/Kona side, the tour begins at a coffee farm south of Kona, where you can walk through the orchards, learn how coffee is harvested and milled, and sample locally grown Kona coffee.

The route then continues past Kealakekua Bay and toward South Point before stopping at Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, where Hawaiian green sea turtles are often seen resting near the shore. You will also visit Punalu'u Bake Shop for a taste of local treats before heading into Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Inside the park, travel along Chain of Craters Road and visit volcanic sites such as steam vents, scenic overlooks, past lava flow areas and Nahuku Lava Tube. After dinner at a restaurant near the park, the day finishes with guided stargazing using a portable telescope, weather permitting.
