Scuba diving gives you a completely different view of Oahu. Once you are below the surface, Waikiki fades into the background and the focus shifts to reef life, coral, open blue water, and the quiet pace of moving underwater.

If you are already certified and have been diving recently, Waikiki Dive Center offers two-tank boat dives that head out to south shore reefs and wreck sites. Newer divers can also look at Discover-style boat dives with more guidance along the way. For a simpler first experience, Try Scuba Diving Honolulu offers a beach dive near Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park, with no previous dive history required.

The best option depends on how much experience you have and how comfortable you feel in the water. A boat dive gives certified divers access to deeper sites and more variety, while a beach entry can feel less intimidating if you are trying scuba for the first time.
