Big Island golf feels different because the landscape changes so quickly. One course may run across black lava and oceanfront resort land, while another climbs into cooler Kona slopes with wide views and a completely different feel underfoot.

Current Big Island golf options include Mauna Kea Golf Course, Waikoloa Beach Resort Golf, Hapuna Golf Course, Mauna Lani Resort South Course, Mauna Lani Resort North Course and Makalei Golf Club. Mauna Kea brings classic resort golf above the coast, Waikoloa has 27 holes with Beach, Lakes and Kings' nines, Hapuna rises from sea level toward higher ground, Mauna Lani South is known for its oceanfront 15th hole, Mauna Lani North plays across lava-bed terrain and Makalei sits higher in the Kona area.
