Dive Into a Different Side of the Big Island

Once you are underwater, the Big Island feels like a completely different place. Instead of lava fields and mountain views, the focus shifts to reef life, sea turtles, clear water, and the quiet rhythm of a dive below the surface.

Hilo gives you several ways to experience it, from certified 2-tank boat dives and shore dives to introductory beach scuba and night diving. Some outings visit reef areas near Sea Turtle Cove, while others are built around the changing conditions and marine life found along the Hilo side of the island. Current dive times generally run from about 3 to 5 hours.

If you are already certified, you can choose the type of dive that sounds most interesting, whether that means boat access, a shore entry, or heading out after dark. If scuba is new to you, an introductory dive lets you try the experience with more guidance before committing to anything more advanced.
