Take a Day Trip from Oahu to Another Island

Staying on Oahu does not mean you have to limit the whole trip to one island. An inter-island tour lets you fly out of Honolulu in the morning, spend the day exploring somewhere completely different, and return to your Oahu hotel that evening without packing a suitcase or changing resorts.

If Maui is calling, you might spend the day along the Road to Hana, explore Haleakala country, stop in small towns, or follow scenic roads through a greener side of the island. Kauai brings a different kind of day, with Waimea Canyon, Kokee Valley, Wailua River, Fern Grotto, and movie-location scenery. On the Big Island, the focus often shifts to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, lava tubes, crater views, Hilo, or a combination of ground touring and aerial sightseeing.

When comparing tours, look closely at the flight schedule, total tour length, included airfare, meals, walking, park stops, and return time. An early start is part of the deal, but so is getting to see another island in a single day.
