About this experience

Zip Through the Big Island’s Green Side

A zipline tour is a fun way to see parts of the Big Island you would never experience from the road. In Kohala, the course feels tucked into the trees, with canopy platforms, sky bridges, and a rappel adding to the adventure. At Umauma, the scenery opens up more, with long lines stretching over lush gulches and waterfall country.

Kohala Zipline’s Canopy Adventure lasts about 3 hours and includes 8 ziplines, 6 sky bridges, and a rappel. If you want to make more of a day of it, the Kohala Zip & Dip adds lunch, a hike, and a swim at a private waterfall. Umauma Experience offers its 3-hour Umauma Falls Zipline Tour with 9 ziplines across roughly 2 miles, while the 4-hour Zip N Dip Combo adds lunch, swimming, and kayaking at a private section of Umauma Falls.

The choice comes down to the kind of scenery and pace you want. Kohala gives you more of a true canopy-course feel, while Umauma is all about open views, waterfalls, and longer lines.

Wear closed-toe shoes, check the current age and weight requirements, and bring a swimsuit and towel if your tour includes time at the falls.
