Scuba diving adds another layer to Kauai, one that feels far removed from the beaches and lookout points above. Along the south shore, you can explore reef areas, lava formations, caverns, and underwater terrain that gives each dive site its own character.

Seasport Divers offers a range of current options, from morning and afternoon two-tank dives to a Twilight Night Dive, Koloa Landing shore diving, advanced three-tank trips, and a full-day Niihau dive. If you are working toward certification, PADI Open Water and referral programs are also available.

The right dive depends first on your experience level. If you are newer to scuba, a local shore or afternoon dive can make the day feel more manageable. Certified divers looking for more time underwater can choose longer multi-tank trips, night diving, or the much more involved Niihau excursion.

Local dives generally run around four hours, while the Niihau trip can take 11 to 12 hours, so there is a big difference in commitment. Check certification requirements, site conditions, included gear, and the expected dive profile before choosing your day.
