Kona and Kohala Sails

Big Island Sailing

Big Island sailing follows the Kona and Kohala coastline with tradewinds, lava-rock cliffs, sunset light and open water beside the boat. Leave from Honokohau Harbor, Kawaihae Harbor or Anaehoomalu Bay for a short day sail or an easy evening on the water.

Big Island Sailing

Your Big Island Sailing Tour

A Big Island sailing tour gives the coastline room to breathe. The catamaran moves past lava-rock shoreline, sea cliffs, mountain views and blue water while the wind does part of the work and the island stays in view from the deck.

Sailing routes may leave from Honokohau Harbor on the Kona Coast, Kawaihae Harbor along the Kohala side or Anaehoomalu Bay near Waikoloa. Some tours are daytime sails with coastline views and marine life watching, while others are sunset cruises with light bites, drinks and a slower evening pace.

Pick the departure area that fits where you are staying, then look at the time of day, drink and snack inclusions, boat style and ocean comfort. Kona sails are convenient from Kailua-Kona, while Kohala and Waikoloa departures fit the resort side of the island.
