Your Kauai Tubing Tour

Kauai tubing turns a former sugar plantation irrigation system into a slow, splashy ride through the island's backcountry. The route follows old waterways that were engineered and hand-dug around 1870, with open canals, tunnels, flumes and mountain-fed water carrying each tube along.

Current Kauai tubing is offered by Kauai Backcountry Adventures and is listed at about 3 hours. Guests wear headlamps for the darker tunnel sections, float through gently moving water and finish near a picnic area with lunch and a natural swimming pond.

Reserve early because Kauai tubing can fill quickly. Wear water-friendly shoes, bring a swimsuit or clothes that can get wet, and pack a towel and dry change of clothes for after the float.
