The Big Island gives you plenty of ways to get into the water, from calm beach entries to full boat days along the Kona and Kohala coasts. Some trips are all about the reef, while others make the ride part of the experience with lava cliffs, sea caves, blowholes, and stretches of coastline you would never see from shore.

Kealakekua Bay and Honaunau Bay are popular choices if you want clear water and strong reef scenery. Along the Kona Coast, you can also find snorkel stops paired with rafting or catamaran cruising. Farther north, Kohala Coast sails give you more room to relax on deck before heading into the water. On the Hilo side, guided beach snorkeling near Sea Turtle Lagoon and Black Sand Beach offers a simpler way to ease into the experience.
