Kauai Kayaking

Kauai kayaking follows river bends, rainforest trails and waterfall routes through some of the island’s greenest scenery. Paddle the Wailua River toward Secret Falls, follow Huleia River through wildlife refuge land or pair the water with a hike to a cool waterfall stop.

About this experience

Kauai Kayaking

Your Kauai Kayaking Tour

Kauai kayaking is less about speed and more about getting into places where the island feels quiet, green and close. The paddle may move along the Wailua River, through Huleia River scenery or into valley areas where the water, trees and trail all become part of the route.

Current Kauai kayaking options include Rainbow Kayak, Kayak Adventures, Outfitters Kauai and Ancient River Kayak. Tours may include the Wailua River, Secret Falls, Uluwehi Falls, Huleia National Wildlife Refuge, waterfall hikes, rainforest trails and views toward the Mt. Waialeale area.

Most current Kauai kayak tours run about 5 to 6 hours, so plan for more than a quick paddle. Wear secure water-friendly shoes, bring clothes that can get wet, and check hiking distance, waterfall access, lunch details and age rules before booking.
