About Outfitters Kauai - Wailua Waterfall Kayak
Paddle the Wailua River through Wailua River State Park, hike through rainforest terrain and visit Uluwehi Falls on this 5.5-hour guided Kauai kayak tour with lunch.
Paddle a stable, tandem kayak up the serene Wailua River, Hawaii's only navigable waterway, framed by emerald jungle and the distant silhouette of Mt. Wai'ale'ale. Your guide shares stories of ancient Hawaiian life as you glide through the lush valley, pointing out remnants of old home sites hidden along the shore.
After an easy upstream journey you beach the kayaks and follow a gentle one-mile trail beneath towering trees to a 120-foot waterfall. Cool off under the mist, lounge on sun-warmed lava rock or simply soak in the rainforest soundtrack while your guide sets out a picnic lunch. Recharged, you hike back to the river and enjoy a leisurely paddle downstream to the launch site.

Important Notice – Wailua River State Park Entry Fee: The state of Hawaii is charging a $10 fee per car to park and a $5 fee per person (age 4 and up) for entrance to Wailua Marina (which is part of Wailua River State Park). Tour participants are responsible for these fees, which are collected directly by the state via credit card only at the park entrance (no cash accepted). After parking, walk to the marina to meet your guide by the white Outfitters Kauai van and trailer.
Restrictions
Participants must be at least 5 years old.
Participants must be able to walk 2 miles of rugged trail and kayak for 60-90 minutes.
Maximum kayak weight limit is 275 lbs (124 kg) per person.
Special Notes
