About Kayak Adventures - Secret Falls Tour
Paddle 4 miles roundtrip on the Wailua River and hike 2.5 miles through rainforest to 120-foot Uluwehi Falls on this 6-hour Kauai kayak adventure.
Spend six hours exploring Kauai's lush interior by river and rainforest. The day starts with a two-mile paddle along the Wailua River, gliding past Kamokila Hawaiian Village, a filming site for the movie Outbreak. Stow the kayaks, lace up your shoes and follow your guide one mile through dense jungle to 120-foot Uluwehi Falls, better known as Secret Falls. Cool off in the pool, pose for photos and learn why this cascade remains a sacred spot to Native Hawaiians. Along the way your guide points out native plants, ancient Hawaiian sites and locations featured in Raiders of the Lost Ark, 6 Days 7 Nights and Jurassic Park.

Important Notice – Wailua River State Park Entry Fee: The state of Hawaii is charging a $5 per person (age 4 and up) fee for entrance to Wailua Marina (which is part of Wailua River State Park). Tour participants are responsible for this fee. This fee is collected by the state at the park entrance, is not included in tour pricing, and credit card payment is required (no cash accepted).
DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTH:
South on Hwy 56 through Kapa'a town. Go through 4 traffic lights. Turn left into Coconut Marketplace parking lot. Look for the huge tower. We are located in the kiosk underneath.
DIRECTIONS FROM THE SOUTH:
Take Hwy 50 through Lihue. Turn left onto Hwy 56 north towards Wailua/Kapaa. Cross Wailua River bridge (double bridge), go through two traffic lights. Turn right into Coconut Marketplace and parking lot. Look for the huge tower. We are located in the kiosk underneath.
Restrictions
This Wailua River tour is a physically demanding adventure, designed for active individuals who are ready to explore Kauai's natural beauty. While no prior kayaking experience is required, participants must be able to paddle a total of 4 miles on the Wailua River and hike 2.5 miles round trip through uneven terrain.
Expecting mothers are welcome to join this tour through 20 weeks of pregnancy.
Participants must be at least 5 years old.
Requirements
Participants must be able to paddle 4 miles roundtrip and hike 2.5 miles through uneven rainforest terrain. Bring a light lunch, water-friendly shoes, swimwear, towel and a change of clothes.
Special Notes
All participants are strongly encouraged to bring a light lunch as the tour lasts 6 hours. At the check-in location at Coconut Marketplace, the ABC Store Deli opens at 7 am, offering sandwiches and light lunch options, perfect for your adventure.

Equipment
Provided: Ocean Zest double kayaks with supportive seats, lightweight aluminum paddles and children's paddles. Each kayak has life jackets and a dry bag backpack. One single kayak is available.
