Fly Over the Kauai You Can’t Reach by Road

Some of Kauai’s most impressive places are hidden behind steep ridges, deep valleys, and rugged coastline. A helicopter tour lets you look straight into that side of the island, where waterfalls drop through green cliffs and the Na Pali Coast rises sharply from the ocean.

Depending on the route, you may fly over Waimea Canyon, remote valleys, Mount Waialeale, and long stretches of coastline that are almost impossible to see from the ground. Some tours make a broad loop around much of Kauai, while others spend more time over a particular region or offer a private flight for a more personal experience.

If photography is high on your list, pay attention to the aircraft and seating setup. Doors-on flights offer a more enclosed ride, while doors-off options, when available, create a very different feel and can open up the views even more.
