About Oahu to Maui - Best of Maui: Sips, Sites & Bites
Fly from Oahu to Maui for a full-day inter-island tour with Haleakala National Park, upcountry Maui, lunch at Hali'imaile, Pau Vodka and Iao Valley.
Fly north across cobalt waters and touch down on Maui, where the road climbs through mist-kissed ranchlands toward Haleakala National Park. Along the rim of the dormant volcano, look for endangered nēnē geese and the shimmering Silversword plant while sweeping views span the island's rugged upcountry.
By midday the tour pauses in plantation-era Makawao, now a haven for art galleries and cafés, before a relaxed sit-down lunch at Hali'imaile General Store and a tasting tour of nearby Pau Vodka distillery. Afternoon brings the lush embrace of Iao Valley State Park—4,000 acres of rainforest threaded by a gentle stream. A short path leads beneath kukui and hala trees to the emerald-clad spire of the Iao Needle, a natural sentinel steeped in royal history, before your guide returns you to the airport for an island-sweeping flight back to Oahu.
