About 2 Tank Boat Dive (Certified) - Sea Turtle Cove and Tropical Reef
Board Hilo Ocean Adventures' commercial dive boat for a certified two-tank dive outside Hilo Bay, with reef walls, rock formations and marine life when conditions allow.
Venture beyond Hilo Bay aboard Hilo Ocean Adventures' 28-foot vessel, the only commercial dive and snorkel boat operating from Hilo. This two-tank trip takes certified divers to offshore coves where reef walls, rock formations and clear water reveal a side of the coastline that is difficult to reach from shore.
The dive sites are about 30 minutes away from shore, with approximately 45 minutes in the water at each location. Because these reefs have rarely been accessed, the underwater scenery remains vibrant, with possible sightings of sea turtles, eels, urchins, reef fish and coral. Pods of dolphins may also be seen playing in the boat's wake along Hilo's lush coast.
Gear
Diving gear is NOT included in this tour. You are welcome to bring your own or rent equipment from Hilo Ocean Adventures. They carry top of the line equipment like 2018 Atomic Z3 regulators and Oceanic BCDs.

Once checked in at the dive shop, transportation will be provided to the dive site.
Restrictions
Minimum age: 12 years
Maximum age: 64 years
All divers must be open water certified and have a SCUBA diver certification card.
Experience level: Certified divers with 15 or more logged dives or equivalent ocean experience. Refresher mandatory if inactive for more than 2 years.
All divers must be in good health with no recent injuries, pregnancies, back or neck issues. Those with lung issues or other major medical issues should contact Hilo Ocean Adventures before booking.
All divers should be able to swim and use a snorkel or regulator.
No diving and driving or flying to altitudes of 2,500+ feet after dives for 12 hours (1 tank) or for 18 hours (2 tank).
Trips go rain or shine, unless Hilo Ocean Adventures must cancel for the safety of guests.
Minors 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Diving gear is available for rent. It is not included unless you choose the Add Diving Gear option.
A refresher course is mandatory if your last dive was 2+ years ago. This fee is in addition to the basic tour price.
Special Notes
Please use reef safe sunscreen. This is sunscreen that does not contain oxybenzone, which is the leading cause of reef stress and coral bleaching.
Water temperature: 75 to 80 °F (24 to 27 °C). A 3 mm wetsuit is recommended year-round.
