KapohoKine Adventures – Evening Volcano Explorer (From Kona)

Follow the Big Island from Kona’s coffee slopes to black sand coastline and the volcanic landscapes of Kilauea on a full-day adventure that stretches into the evening. The first stop is Bay View Farm, set above Kealakekua Bay on the slopes of Mauna Loa, where you can learn how Kona coffee is grown and prepared while sampling it with views toward the coast.

From there, the route continues through South Kona and Ka'u, where dry forest and old lava flows create a completely different side of the island. A stop at Punalu'u Bake Shop adds a taste of local tradition before you continue to Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, where Hawaiian green sea turtles may be seen offshore or resting on the dark volcanic sand.

Later, the focus shifts to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. You’ll visit places such as the Kilauea Visitor's Center, Kilauea Iki overlook, Nahuku lava tube, Mauna Ulu, Steam Bluffs and Volcano House. The evening gives you time to see the park in softer light, and when weather and volcanic conditions cooperate, there may also be a chance to see lava glow.
