Polynesian Adventure Tours – Big Island Volcano Adventure (From Hilo)

Explore some of the Big Island's most dramatic landscapes on a guided day trip from Hilo to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and two of the island's best-known waterfalls. The route begins through lush rainforest before reaching the volcanic terrain around Kilauea.

Inside the park, stop at Wahinekapu Steam Vents and take in views of Halema'uma'u Crater and the Kilauea Caldera. Continue along Chain of Craters Road, then walk through Nāhuku Lava Tube, a natural tunnel formed by flowing lava and now surrounded by rainforest.

After a picnic lunch from Millie's Deli, the tour returns toward Hilo with a drive past Banyan Drive and Lili'uokalani Gardens. The final stops are Rainbow Falls and Akaka Falls, where waterfalls, bamboo and tropical vegetation round out the day.
