About Pacific Whale Foundation - Whale Watch Sail
Sail from Maalaea with Pacific Whale Foundation on a seasonal whale watch cruise featuring humpback whale viewing, crew narration and Maui ocean scenery.
Listen for the haunting songs of humpback whales and watch Maui's winter waters for breaches, tail slaps and other unforgettable moments aboard Ocean Spirit. Departing from Ma'alaea Harbor, this modern catamaran follows the scenic Maui coastline with certified marine naturalists on board to explain whale behavior, characteristics and the remarkable journey these animals make to Hawaii.
Underwater hydrophones may let you hear whale songs beneath the surface, while the Jr. Naturalist program gives younger guests a fun way to learn more about the ocean. Keep your camera ready throughout the sail, with beautiful coastal views and plenty of chances to photograph whales in their natural environment.

Parking is paid throughout the harbor. Please review signage upon arrival.
Restrictions
There are no specific restrictions for this activity.
Wheelchairs: This vessel is NOT wheelchair accessible. The vessel has really high steps so it is not suggested even with assistance to board from another member of your group.
Special Notes
Affordable rentals of binoculars and cameras are available.
Snacks and beverages are available for purchase on board, including soda and juice.
The Ocean Spirit will use its sail when possible depending on weather conditions or whale activity, but the captain may need to use the engines for the safety of the animals, in accordance with Pacific Whale Foundation's "Be Whale Aware" policies for safe and sustainable humpback whale viewing.

Equipment
The Ocean Spirit is Pacific Whale Foundation's newest sailing catamaran. It was custom designed and features streamlined hulls and a spacious deck design, providing the ultimate in passenger comfort. The extra large deck offers plenty of outdoor seating. The vessel features his and her air-conditioned bathrooms, padded seating and a surround sound system.
