About Kauai Surf School - Kauai Surf Lessons
Learn to surf on Kauai's south shore with Kauai Surf School, with friendly instruction, ocean-safety basics, surfboard use and beginner-friendly wave coaching.
Poipu's gentle, rolling breaks are ideal for first rides, and Kauai Surf School has the gear and patient instructors to get you up and gliding. Lessons start with a half-hour of dry-land coaching, then it's straight into the water for an hour of assisted wave catching followed by thirty minutes of supervised practice. All equipment is provided—just bring your swim skills and sense of adventure.
Lesson Highlights
- Located at Poipu Beach on Kauai's sunny south shore
- 30 minutes land instruction, 60 minutes wave riding, 30 minutes free practice
- Boards, leashes and rash guards supplied for every student
- Beginner to intermediate coaching; must be able to swim

Lesson Options
- Group Lesson – 4 students per instructor, ages 12+
- Semi-Private Lesson – 2 or 3 students per instructor
- Private Lesson – 1 student per instructor
- Private Lesson for Kids – ages 4-12, 1 child per instructor
- Semi-Private Lesson for Kids – ages 4-12, 2 children per instructor

Where & When
Check-in is at the Kiahuna Beach Shack in front of the Kiahuna Plantation Resort near the beach. Please check in at least 15 minutes prior to your lesson time. View Map
Public parking is available at the end of Hoonani Road near the Sheraton Resort.
