About Hawaii Forest & Trail - Volcano Direct Hiking Adventure
Hike with Hawaii Forest & Trail on a guided Volcano Direct hiking route featuring private access, volcanic terrain, native forest and Big Island geology.
Walk into the living landscape of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where native forest gives way to steaming vents, lava tubes and crater views shaped by one of the most active volcanic regions on Earth. This guided hiking adventure covers up to 3 miles and offers a closer look at the forces that continue to transform the Big Island.
Your naturalist guide will choose the best trails based on current park activity and conditions, creating a tour that may include ancient lava fields, volcanic craters, steam vents and quieter paths away from the busiest areas. Stops near Halema'uma'u Crater add dramatic views, while stories of geology, native plants, wildlife and Hawaiian culture bring the landscape into deeper focus.
Set within a UNESCO World Heritage site, this immersive experience is a rewarding choice for curious travelers who want more than a quick overlook and prefer to experience the park one trail at a time.
