About One Ocean Diving - Shark Research Snorkel
Snorkel with sharks on Oahu's North Shore with One Ocean Diving, a cage-free shark research tour guided by an in-water safety diver.
One Ocean Diving - Shark Research Snorkel takes you offshore from Haleiwa for a cage-free shark snorkel on Oahu's North Shore. This is a snorkel-only tour, led by a team focused on shark research, conservation and safe in-water interaction.
Before entering the water, the crew explains shark behavior, safety procedures and how to move respectfully in the ocean. Once conditions are right, you enter the water with snorkel gear while a safety diver stays with the group.
The tour is built for confident swimmers who want a direct, respectful shark encounter without a cage. You may see pelagic shark species in the open ocean, and the crew shares information about shark physiology, behavior and current research during the trip.

Restrictions
Minimum age: 3 years
Participants age 3 to 7 years old need to have their own snug fitting life jacket and if getting in the water, their own fins (preferably all black or blue) to ensure a snug fit.
Maximum weight: 250 lbs (113 kg)
***If you are over 250 lbs (113 kg), please call before booking so we can ensure your comfort and safety. You may be required to book 2 spots and a 2nd safety crew may need to be scheduled. All crew members are certified to lift up to 125 lbs (57 kg) for a total of 250 lbs (113 kg), so arrangements must be made to ensure the proper safety precautions in the case of an emergency.
Snorkeling: Minimum height of 4 ft (122 cm) tall.
All participants should be physically fit and able to swim and snorkel with ease in waves and against strong currents.
Participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or have them sign the release of liability and assumption of risk waiver prior to departure.
Pregnant women: No pregnant women on this tour. Part of this is due to the fact that a wet boat is a slippery and an unstable platform with many tripping hazards and hard surfaces.
Allergies: If you are knowingly diabetic or allergic to bee stings or jellyfish, please let One Ocean Diving know as soon as you board the boat and bring your medications with you.
Medical conditions: Inform the crew of any special medical conditions and medications. Text the office ahead of time at 1-808-649-0018 and let your captain know as soon as you board.
Prone to seasickness: Speak to your doctor about the best motion medication to take for you. A common one is Dramamine, which can usually be taken the night before and 1 hour before boarding (again speak to your doctor about frequency). Feel free to bring ginger lozenges or snacks like crackers to help.
All trips are subject to change due to weather. Please limit your personal items you bring on board to 1 bag per person. There is limited dry storage on board. There is no restroom on board. Please use the facilities at the harbor before departure.
