Although Kilauea rises just over 4,000 feet and is not the tallest volcano on the island, its continuing activity has left an extraordinary lava footprint. Follow a section of the crater rim for striking views, feel heat escaping from volcanic fissures at the Steam Vents Lookout and walk through the Nahuku Lava Tube. The tour also visits Rainbow Falls, where mist rising from the cascading water may create colorful rainbows above the pool below.
