About Malama Hawaii Shoreline Restoration Tour
Plant native shoreline vegetation on Oahu's North Shore during a 45-minute North Shore Stables activity that supports coastal dune restoration.
Join North Shore Stables for a hands-on shoreline restoration experience that lets you give back to the island while learning how native plants protect Oahu's coast. During this 45-minute tour, choose a seedling from the nursery and place it in the sand yourself, adding to a one-mile stretch of dune rebuilt with species whose roots knit the shoreline together.
Your guide explains how each plant prevents erosion and rebuilds lost dunes, and the revenue from your visit is donated to Friends of Akiana Bay. You'll receive a tax-deductible letter and a one-year family membership to the nonprofit as a thank-you for your kokua (help).

Waikiki Roundtrip Transportation:
Roundtrip transportation from Waikiki area hotels is available for an additional fee. There are two scheduled Waikiki transfers each day. The first transfer departs Waikiki at 6:20 am and returns to Waikiki by approximately 10:45 am. The second transfer will leave Waikiki at 12:00 pm and return to Waikiki by about 4:15 pm. There is a minimum of two passengers required to book roundtrip transportation from Waikiki.
Restrictions
Children must be at least 2 years old to participate in this tour.
Children (2-9 years) are free.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their legal guardian.
No power tools or machinery.
Special Notes
Garden or working gloves are provided.
Cold drinking water is provided. Please bring a water bottle.
Restrooms are available.
