Follow the stories of Kona through its world-famous coffee, sacred Hawaiian history and a small country church filled with colorful artwork. The journey begins at the Royal Kona Coffee Center, where the aroma of freshly roasted Kona coffee welcomes you. Sample Hawaii's renowned gourmet coffee and browse for a special souvenir to bring home.

Continue to Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, also known as the Place of Refuge. In ancient Hawaii, this sacred place offered sanctuary to lawbreakers and defeated warriors who reached its grounds before their pursuers. Today, the beautifully maintained National Historical Park preserves the setting through landscaped grounds, cultural displays and Hawaiian artifacts.

The final visit is St. Benedict's Painted Church, tucked into a peaceful countryside village. Built between 1899 and 1902, the church is known for its vivid interior murals, painted by Belgian priests to give the modest building the grandeur of a cathedral.
