About Captain Bob's Picnic Sail & Snorkel
Cruise Kaneohe Bay with Waikiki transportation, a shallow sandbar stop, snorkeling over a reef, green sea turtle viewing and barbecue lunch on board.
Your day starts with a comfortable pickup in Waikiki, then a narrated ride across Oahu to spectacular Kaneohe Bay. Along the way your driver sprinkles in island history, geology, and a few Hollywood secrets tied to this coastline. Once aboard a roomy double-hull catamaran, Captain Bob points toward a sun-lit sandbar where ankle-deep water is perfect for a friendly game of volleyball or a carefree swim. The bay you're standing in is actually the flooded crater of an ancient volcano whose last eruption, 350 000 years ago, sent part of Oahu sliding into the sea.
While you splash or snorkel, the onboard chef grills a barbecue lunch. After eating, the boat moves to a nearby reef where turquoise water, bright corals, and cruising green sea turtles invite a second round of snorkeling. Spinner dolphins sometimes ride the bow wave, and shoreward views reveal familiar film locations like Gilligan's Island and Chinaman's Hat.
