Pacific Whale Foundation – Sunset & Celestial Stargazing Cruise

As daylight fades along the South Maui coastline, the evening sky becomes part of the journey. This sunset cruise pairs ocean views, appetizers and drinks with stories of Polynesian wayfinding and the remarkable knowledge ancient navigators used to cross the Pacific and reach the Hawaiian Islands.

International award-winning astronomy writer and speaker Harriet Witt joins the cruise to point out stars and share their meaning within Hawaiian culture. Her lively commentary brings the night sky into focus, connecting astronomy, storytelling and the traditions of Polynesian navigation.

During the winter months, a hydrophone is lowered into the water for the chance to hear the haunting songs of humpback whales beneath the stars.
