About Rainbow Helicopters - Kohala Coast Volcanoes & Waterfalls
See the Big Island from coast to summit on a helicopter flight that crosses volcanic terrain, rainforest valleys and some of Hawaii Island's most remote shoreline. The route begins near Kailua Bay and continues toward Mauna Loa, Hualalai and Kaupulehu Crater before opening to views of Mauna Kea and the Puu Waawaa Forest Reserve.
Farther north, the scenery shifts to the Kohala region, where deep valleys and waterfalls cut through steep green cliffs. From above, you may see Pololu, Waimanu and Waipio valleys along with waterfalls such as Laupahoehoe Nui and Waiilikahi.
The return route follows the coast past Kawaihae, Anaehoomalu and Kiholo bays before continuing toward the Kona Coast and Makalawena Beach.

Restrictions
Due to FAA regulations, children 24 months and over require an individual full-fare seat. Any child under 24 months is welcome on the lap of a responsible adult at no charge.
For each passenger weighing 250-274 lbs (113-124 kg), a weight balance fee of an additional 50% is required. For each passenger weighing 275 lbs (124.7 kg) or more, a weight balance fee of an additional 100% is required. The maximum weight per passenger is 300 lbs (136 kg).

Rainbow Helicopters' fleet includes the Airbus AStar and the Robinson R44 helicopters. The Airbus AStar seats 6 guests and has a spacious and comfortable cabin and panoramic interior for optimum visibility. The Robinson R44 seats 3 guests (all window seats) and features an open cabin design, offering unobstructed views for great pictures.
