About Rainbow Helicopters - Kohala Coast Volcanoes & Waterfalls
Fly with Rainbow Helicopters on a Kohala Coast Volcanoes & Waterfalls tour featuring Big Island volcanic landscapes, waterfalls, valleys and dramatic coastline views.
The adventure begins above Kailua Bay's crystalline reef, tracing wave-kissed shoreline toward the massive shield of Mauna Loa and the fuming cones of Hualalai and Kaupulehu Crater. Farther inland, the serrated summit of Mauna Kea rises nearly 14,000 feet, while the older Kohala volcano gives way to the emerald expanse of Puu Waawaa Forest Reserve and the sun-lit Kohala Coast.
Heading north, steep emerald valleys—Pololu, Waimanu and Waipio—reveal ribbons of waterfalls like Laupahoehoe Nui and Waiilikahi plunging into mist. The return arc follows turquoise coves and black-sand pockets past Anaehoomalu and Kiholo Bays, with a final sweep over the remote white sands of Makalawena Beach before landing.
