Kilauea is the youngest and most active of Hawaii Island's five volcanoes, rising 4,091 feet above sea level and erupting more than 30 times in the past 60 years. When active, molten lava may be visible carving new paths across the surface below. The flight offers a remarkable perspective on the power of the Earth and the sacred presence of Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of fire.
Doors Off Option: Rainbow Helicopters gives you the choice if you would like to fly with doors on or doors off. You can select your flight preference at time of booking. With the doors off option, you get to experience the sights with an open cabin and enjoy unobstructed views.

Restrictions
Due to FAA regulations, children 24 months and over require an individual full-fare seat. Any child under 24 months is welcome on the lap of a responsible adult at no charge.
For each passenger weighing 250-274 lbs (113-124 kg), a weight balance fee of an additional 50% is required. For each passenger weighing 275 lbs (124.7 kg) or more, a weight balance fee of an additional 100% is required. The maximum weight per passenger is 300 lbs (136 kg).
Rainbow Helicopters does not assume responsibility for conditions beyond their control, including adverse weather, regulatory restrictions, or any other condition that could compromise safety of flight. Unforeseen circumstances may precipitate varied scenic views, delay, or cancellation.
Special Notes
While we do our very best to view the active volcano during every tour, mother nature is in charge! In this way, Rainbow Helicopters cannot guarantee their guests will be able to view the volcano, mostly due to the rapidly changing weather climate and volcanic activity. There are no refunds, however, in the event that lava viewing isn't possible, Rainbow Helicopters is able to offer extraordinary alternate sites, such as the vast waterfalls, rainforests, and other volcanic craters around the Big Island.

Rainbow Helicopters' fleet includes the Airbus AStar and the Robinson R44 helicopters. The Airbus AStar seats 6 guests and has a spacious and comfortable cabin and panoramic interior for optimum visibility. The Robinson R44 seats 3 guests (all window seats) and features an open cabin design, offering unobstructed views for great pictures.
