Old Lahaina Luau "Since 1987, the Old Lahaina Luau has been acclaimed for presenting Maui's most authentic and entertaining Hawaiian luau. Those who join us are treated to a truly memorable evening of traditional Hawaiian cuisine, music, cultural dances and island crafts. Our guests appreciate a genuine reflection of Hawaii's rich history while enjoying a spectacular ocean view and sunset. No Discounting Permitted. Aloha Greeting & Imu Presentation Your evening begins with a traditional lei greeting and a delicious tropical beverage of your choice. Greeters will escort you to your seats. Photographers are available for souvenir photos, available at the end of the evening (with no obligation to purchase). Stroll the grounds and "talk story" as local island crafts are demonstrated along the beach. Guests are welcome to gather around as we unearth the Kalua Pua'a (Roast Pork) from the traditional underground oven at the southern end of the lu'au grounds, where it has been cooking since early morning. Hosts will escort each table to the abundant buffet and explain the wide variety of selections. After dinner our musicians and dancers take guests on a musical journey through the history of Hawaii. The Feast (Pa’ina Ahiahi): Fresh tossed garden salad with Island style dressing served tableside with freshly baked taro rolls and macadamia nut butter... Hosts escort guests to the Hale Ai (Eating House). Traditional Hawaiian cuisine includes: Kalua Roast Pork, Lau Lau (Pork wrapped in Luau leaf steamed to perfection), Poi, Ahi Poke (marinated raw Ahi tuna), Big Island Sweet Potato, Grilled Top Sirloin Steak, Chicken Long Rice, Island Style Chicken, Maui Style Mahi-Mahi stuffed with crab and shrimp topped with a macadamia nut glaze. Stir Fry Vegetables, Local Style Fried Rice, Island Crab Salad, Taro Leaf Salad with Coconut Sauce, Pahole Salad (fern shoots), Lomi Lomi Salmon (salmon mixed with tomatoes and onions), Banana Bread, and Fresh Island Fruit. Fresh Tossed Green Salad served with Island Style dressing, and Rolls with Macadamia nut butter, served at guest’s table. Assorted Island Desserts served at guest’s table. (subject to change without notice) Entertainment: Upon sunset, the evening’s main entertainment begins. This award winning production tells the story of the Hawaiians. The Old Lahaina Luau is proud to present the Hula as it was meant to be performed with love and reverence. Beginning with the roots of migration, to the Kahiko, then finally the more contemporary style Hula. Ote’a - Thier program begins with the early migration of the Polynesians across the Pacific to the “new islands” of Hawaii. Kahiko - The ancient Hula was a way of communicating with the Gods. It is accompanied by chanting, and traditional implements and is performed with respect for our ancestors. Missionaries and the Merrie Monarch - The missionaries brought many changes. The Old Lahaina Luau presents Hula depicting this era as well as celebrating King Kalakaua. ‘Auana - The modern Hula was influenced by immigrants and tourism. Hula dancers tell their stories through their graceful moves, subtle eyes and lovely hula hands.

Seating arrangements are made based on the date a reservation is confirmed. Guests may choose from traditional seating on grass with cushions directly in front of the stage or regular tables and chairs. It is important to make sure that guests are comfortable in the traditional seating area, as it is difficult to change after all guests have arrived. Please let us know of any special considerations (infant, wheelchair, etc.) at the time the reservation is made.
