The sound
of the conch, the beating of the drums and the echoes of the
Hawaiian chant signal the start of Hawaii's most exciting
Lu'au complete with an authentic imu ceremony and the exotic
flavors of native Hawaiian cuisine. While you enjoy the tastes
of Hawaii, our Drums of the Pacific Polynesian Spectacular
(a Tihati Production) takes you on a journey through the islands
of Polynesia. We feature authentic dances and music of the
old Hawaii, Samoa, Fiji, New Zealand, Tahiti, Tonga, and Rarotonga
in the hottest Lu'au Show in the Islands.
You are
greeted with shell leis and welcomed with fresh mai tais or
fruit punch upon arrival, which are served all evening long,
as well as an open bar featuring all your favorite mixed cocktails.
Your evening begins with Hawaiian music and audience participation
featuring hula lessons, poi ball lessons, coconut tree climbing,
coconut husking and finally the imu ceremony, the unveiling
of the main dish - Kalua Pua'a. Friendly greetings by Royal
Polynesians followed by a Polynesian fashion show featuring
the islands most exotic pareaus (sarong) in creative styles.
An all-you-can-eat
generous buffet features the Kalua Pork, Huli Huli chicken,
Mahi Mahi, Ulupalakua beef, Polynesian Rice, Baked Kula Potatoes,
Baked Hawaiian Sweet Potatoes, Vegetables Makamaka, Tropical
Fruits Anuenue, Soba Noodles, Roasted Wedges of Maui Onions,
Lomi Lomi Salmon, Pacific Ahi Poke, Tossed Green Salad, Kim
Chee and Poi (taro). The lavish dessert bar features Macadamia
Nut Lu'au Cream Pie, Haupia with Toasted Coconut, Pineapple
Cake and Bread Pudding. It's a real great Hawaiian Lu'au Feast.

“Drums
of the Pacific Polynesian Spectacular” luau—an
entertainment and dining extravaganza that attracts sell-out
crowds at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa is aptly
named. Fabulous dancing, great food, and more, adds up to
an unforgettable evening.
The show
features costumes and choreography that represent the islands
of the Pacific: Hawaii, Tonga, Tahiti, Fiji, Samoa, New Zealand
and Australia. The 21-member cast delivers a Polynesian revue
that includes a Samoan fire dance, Fijian spear dance, otea
(drum dance), as well as traditional and contemporary songs
and chants from Hawaii and the South Pacific, with Legi Malic
and Johnson Enos as emcees. Fa‘a Tialino—the legendary
fire knife dancer—has starred in the show for 13 years,
performing in more than 300 shows each year. Fa‘a’s
spectacular and daring performance never fails to elicit cheers
and many times a standing ovation.
